Learn More |
Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) holds significant importance in the realm of classical music as a towering figure of the late Romantic period. His compositions, revered for their monumental scale and intricate harmonies, pushed the boundaries of musical composition into new expansive forms. Bruckner's deep Catholic spirituality inspired profound and deeply emotive works, particularly evident in his choral compositions. These choral works showcase his masterful ability to evoke spiritual contemplation through music, often with soaring melodies, ethereal harmonies, expansive forms and grand orchestrations, reflecting his symphonic sensibilities. Our concert will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Bruckner’s birth by featuring music of composers who influenced him and those he influenced. Join us for this special anniversary concert offering a blend of musical grandeur and intimacy, taking listeners on a journey of contemplation and transcendence.
