Saxophonist Daniel Bennett
New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. NPR described Bennett's music as, "synergistic Jazz." Daniel Bennett's 2021 album release, 'New York Nerve,' was conceived outside under snow-covered heat lamps at Tomi Jazz in midtown Manhattan. Tomi Jazz is an iconic jazz club located in midtown east (239 East 53rd St, NYC). Tomi Jazz has been featured in the New York Times, New Yorker and major news outlets throughout the world. The venue features Jazz groups every night, with 2-3 bands performing each night. The club was originally a "members-only" club on east 9th street in the 1990s. Ken Mukohata bought the business and moved it to midtown Manhattan in 2010. Daniel Bennett Group has performed at the club every week since the midtown location opened in 2010. The club has become a musical hub for the New York jazz scene. Tomi Jazz has blended world class Japanese cuisine with cutting edge Jazz for over a decade.
