Chashama Presents: Art to Ware and The Love Show at Port Authority
View Website |
ChaShaMa is extending their partnership to open two locations in the Port Authority’s Midtown Bus Terminal on October 15th. On the main floor, Chashama will be presenting a pop-up shop collaboration with Art to Ware focusing on sustainable, upcycled and handmade pieces. On the upper level, The Love Show NYC, a theatrical dance company, will combine cabaret, ballet, contemporary, rock, comedy, and theater into creative performances.
Art to Ware is a pop-up curated by Lesley Ware of The Creative Cookie. It is a Women of Color--owned business that promotes socially conscious, upcycled, and handmade focused items. The pricing ranges from $3 (flowers and small things like patches & pins) - $700 (original artwork and intricate handmade wearables). This pop-up shop provides a platform for local artists, brands, and designers to showcase their work in a retail setting. Art To Ware’s pop-up shop will contain artists and designers including Ooh Baby, Bunny Shops, Epperson, Elements by Land, and more. Pop-up hours are Tuesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Art To Ware is part of Chashama’s Storefront Startup program with support from the New York City Department of Small Business Services.
The Love Show will transform a former cookie shop in the Port Authority’s Midtown Bus Terminal into a pop-up theater presenting original dance and performances ranging from comedy to magic, puppetry and live music. 'Welcome Home' will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 1:00pm-7:00pm. Director/choreographer Angela Harriell explains, “The name ‘Welcome Home’ feels warm and right, as we welcome home New Yorkers returning to their city, and visitors as they depart on their own journeys home from Port Authority. Bringing live performance back, we welcome the audience home to the theater. For the duration of the performance, performers and audience become connected, sharing a moment in an atmosphere of people coming and going." All performances will be offered free to the public. As well as being visible from the corridors, the performances will be live streamed on Instagram "@theloveshownyc". The full calendar of TLS shows, as well as guest performances and events, is updated daily at: theloveshownyc.com

About the Midtown Bus Terminal
2021 marks the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s Centennial Year. The bi-state agency builds, operates, and maintains many of the most important transportation and trade infrastructure assets in the country. Founded in 1921, the agency’s network of aviation, ground, rail, and seaport facilities is among the busiest in the country, supports more than 550,000 regional jobs, and generates more than $23 billion in annual wages and $80 billion in annual economic activity. The Port Authority also owns and manages the 16-acre World Trade Center site, where the 1,776-foot-tall One World Trade Center is now the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. The Port Authority receives no tax revenue from either the State of New York or New Jersey or from the City of New York. The agency raises the necessary funds for the improvement, construction or acquisition of its facilities primarily on its own credit.
