Take Root at Green Space
Ranardo-Domeico Grays/VISIONS Contemporary Ballet, an ethnically diverse contemporary ballet company based in New York City, will be presented by Green Space in its Take Root series on Friday, January 21st and Saturday, January 22nd at 8pm. The company will be performing Dash – Between, a ballet about living life in the dash between “born and died.”
Ranardo-Domeico Grays, Founder/Artistic director of VISIONS Contemporary Ballet, is an African American choreographer and brain cancer survivor whose inspirational work centers around humanity and life. He is excited to bring his company back to Green Space to perform Dash – Between, dedicated to Tim Merrell, with music by Phillip Glass, Steve Reich, Vir-Amicus, Lorne Balfe, and William Byrd.
Sharing the evening’s program with VISIONS will be Aika Takeshima/sarAika presenting L Train. Takeshima says, "We are not in control of events. Each moment is not going to last forever. Everything is subject to change. Where is the stability? Things change in a few seconds, without acknowledging it. At the end, life seems like the L train line: everyone goes in the same direction, but nobody has the same destination."
