Opened in May 2019, retail destination Empire Outlets will celebrate its first holiday season this winter! The shopping center and dining destination boasts tenants like Nordstrom Rack, Banana Republic Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory, Columbia Factory Store, Levi’s Outlet, and many more—perfect for everyone on your shopping list. This season, come see the light displays, shop Black Friday deals, and take the new walking/shopping tour available at Staten Island’s Empire Outlets, located a short ferry ride from Downtown Manhattan.
Empire Outlets will kick off its holidays right with a market, special lantern exhibit, and walking tours. The pop-up holiday market—featuring a range of vendors selling gifts, food, and drink—will open November 20 on the fourth floor. These local vendors will be on site until December 31.
Also on the fourth floor, guests can find the Snug Harbor Lantern Festival Exhibit. This showcase joins Staten Island’s Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, a fixture of the borough’s history and culture, in its annual NYC Winter Lantern Festival. This festival populates the city with large lanterns shaped like flowers, tigers, dragons, and much more!
The week before Black Friday, Empire Outlets will begin hosting walking tours! Join professional tour guides from ExperienceFirst as they lead visitors from the Financial District to the Staten Island Ferry to the North Shore of Staten Island. You’ll get plenty of fascinating facts about New York City, particularly while crossing the Harbor and passing the Statue of Liberty, on this $9 narrated excursion. Tours will end at Empire Outlets, and participants will receive a special coupon book for Empire Outlets retailers. These tours will occur daily at 4:45pm, November 23 through January 5, 2020, and meet at the Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan.
The country’s biggest shopping day is coming up on November 29. Black Friday, retailers at Empire Outlets will offer plenty of deals for holiday shoppers, as well as free massages! Stores will open at midnight on Black Friday and remain open until 9pm. Stop by the “Rejuvenation Station” to take a break, and show your receipt from an Empire Outlets store for a free massage. The complex will also show off its holiday spirit with decorations containing 70,000 LED lights and 1,096 feet of garlands.
December 3 is #GivingTuesday, spotlighting organizations that do good and encouraging people to give back. Empire Outlets will celebrate with their tree lighting ceremony and a coinciding generosity outreach: visitors can donate toys to Toys for Tots for the season. The ceremony, beginning at 6pm, will include entertainment, caroling, hot chocolate, food, and promotions at Empire Outlets stores. December 3 also kicks off the center’s Santa residency for the season. Bring your kids to get their picture taken with Kris Kringle himself at Empire Outlets, through December 24.
Holiday shopping works up quite an appetite! In addition to the existing dining options at Empire Outlets, this holiday season will see the opening of Mamoun’s Falafel, Shake Shack, and Wasabi. Wasabi will offer visitors a relaxing, sophisticated meal of sushi and hibachi cooking. Mamoun’s and Shake Shack are two New York-born, fast-casual superstars.
While you’re around for the festivities, check out “Virtual Rush: New York,” the VR experience at Empire Outlets for a fun-filled diversion with your family.
