Pete’s Tavern

129 E. 18th St. (Irving Pl.)
212-473-7676

Welcome to Pete’s Tavern, New York City’s oldest original bar and restaurant, located in the historic neighborhood of Gramercy Park, less than a five-minute walk from Union Square.  The forty-foot rosewood bar, decorated back bar, tin ceiling, tile floors and bar room booths are all original fixtures in place since 1864. Enjoy Pete’s colorful history and its famous patrons as you view the original photos and memorabilia displayed throughout the bar room, dining rooms and private speakeasy room. Pete’s most famous “regular” was O. Henry who penned his masterpiece, “Gift of the Magi”, in Booth 3.

Pete’s kitchen is open for lunch through late-night dinner and offers a variety of comfort dishes featuring “Pat LaFrieda” steaks and burgers, fresh salads and seafood and traditional Italian specialties. Our wide selection of tap beers, cocktails, spirits and wines will satisfy your entire party. Visit our website for current menus, hours and additional information.

Open 7 days—noon 'til late.
