ROLLN Sushi Making Class
Want to really impress your friends at the Labor Day BBQ with a plate of homemade sushi? ROLLN, the newly opened Australian-inspired sushi shop in Flatiron making healthful hand rolls delicious, accessible and sustainable, is here to provide all the tools necessary to roll into the final weekend of summer the right way! Join us on the roof to learn the tricks of the sushi trade with ROLLN founders Gavin Tseng and David Tam, Australian expats and longtime friends who relocated to New York several years ago. Both were nostalgic for the ubiquitous and beloved hand roll sushi they grew up with back home and were inspired to share this delicious and healthful way of eating with their new community—and now, they're excited to teach New Yorkers how to make Australian-style hand rolls themselves! The class will begin with plenty of bites, sake, and a 30 minute lesson on Australian style sushi and the inspiration behind ROLLN's carefully curated menu, what consumers should look for when sourcing seafood for sushi, the proper equipment you need to make sushi at home, and more. Attendees will then have the chance to use both sushi rice and ROLLN's signature quinoa rice to create their own spicy tuna and salmon avocado hand rolls with the guidance of David and Gavin.
