Check It Out: Use Your NYC Library Card to Visit 33 NYC Museums for FREE

If you are a card carrying member of the New York Public Library Queens Library, or Brooklyn Library who is 13 years or older, you can now visit 33 NYC museumsFREE, one time, with New York's new Culture Pass program.

The New York Public Library has made it easier for New Yorkers to take advantage of its many cultural insititutions with the rollout of its Culture Pass program. The service allows library cardholders to visit participating institutions one time, FREE. Some of the participating museums include the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum, Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Morgan Library & Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Cooper Hewitt, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in addition to many others. More participants will be added on an ongoing basis.

NYC library cardholders can borrow passes for two or four people. How it works:

1. Log onto the Culture Pass web site. Under 'Reserve a Pass,' select your library system (The New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library, or Queens Library).

2. Log in to the Culture Pass reservation system using your library card barcode/username and pin.

3. Browse available passes by date, venue or location. Each pass will offer free entry for either two or four people; please read the details carefully.

4. Make a reservation.

5. Retrieve your pass shortly before your visit. (Once you print or download your pass, you cannot cancel your reservation.) You must show ID when redeeming Culture Pass.
