The Union Square Greenmarket is perhaps the most beloved in the city, and its reputation has grown to make it the most popular amongst tourists and locals alike. Beginning in 1976, this farmer’s market has only gotten better with age, now including over 140 venders selling flowers, veggies, fruits, cheeses, meats, and everything else your heart desires. Park Slope's Sunday Down to Earth Farmers Market is the place to be between April and December, with over 40 vendors participating in the fun. From fresh cow cheese and goat yogurt to rabbit meat and lamb sausage, there’s no shortage of authentic animal products at this Down to Earth Farmer’s Market. Best of NYC Farmers' Markets: 92nd Street Greenmarket (Upper East Side)

Head on up to the Upper East Side on Saturdays between June and November to take part in the 92nd Street Greenmarket. Eggs, dairy, fruits, veggies, breads, seafood…you name it, they have it here. Venders include Meredith’s Bakery from Ulster County, NY; vegetables from Philips Farm in Hunterdon County, NJ; and fresh orchard fruit from Wager’s Cider Mill in Yates County, NY. If you want to be eating organically, the Down to Earth Farmers' Markets are the way to go, and the one held in Chelsea every Saturday is one of our personal favorites. Put on by the Church of the Holy Apostles, both local farmers and area food makers sell everything from craft beer to extracts. Best of NYC Farmers' Markets: 79th Street Greenmarket (Upper West Side) 

The 79th Street Greenmarket will never let you down, because it’s open year-round! Make sure you visit on Sundays to take advantage of the regionally grown and sourced food, including wild-caught fish from American Pride Seafood in Suffolk County, NY and maple syrups from Berkshire Berries in Berkshire County, MA.
